The amount of taxable sales throughout Ventura County increased 2% from 1991 to 1992, according to preliminary figures released by the state Board of Equalization.
The total amount of taxable sales was listed at $5.5 billion for 1992--an increase of $107 million over 1991. However, the 1992 amount is still $142 million less than the taxable sales for 1990.
“There hasn’t been any major increase in it,” county Auditor-Controller Thomas O. Mahon said. “I don’t think there has been any real turnaround.”
