Woman, 3 Children Die When Fire Destroys Home

HOUSTON — A mother and her three children died Wednesday huddled together in one of the family’s bedrooms when fire destroyed their duplex building, Houston Fire Department officials said. The four could be seen struggling in vain to escape, eyewitnesses said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
