Bresler’s Acquires Yogurt Chain: Bresler’s Industries Inc., a privately held company based in Chicago, said it has acquired Penguin’s Place Yogurt Shops, a Thousand Oaks-based franschiser with 65 stores, from Penguin’s Place Inc. for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition gives Bresler’s, a multiple-chain franchiser, a total of about 300 stores operating under five franchise names. Penguin’s estimates its 1993 sales will be $13 million. Bresler’s had sales of about $45 million in 1992.
