SANTA ANA — A 33-year-old man was shot three times in the head Thursday night, apparently by a man with whom he was having a money dispute, police said.
Angel Vargas of Santa Ana had just pulled up in his car to his home in the 1300 block of Rita Street with his wife and 1-year-old son when the 7:07 p.m. shooting occurred, officers said.
Vargas was rushed to Western Medical Center where he was in critical condition late last night, police said.
His wife, Alicia, 31, had gotten out of the car before the shooting began and was not injured. The child was still in the car with his father when the gunfire erupted. Police said the boy suffered minor injuries from shattering glass.
