Columbia Basin Fish Still Tainted, EPA Says

A study by the Environmental Protection Agency has confirmed what Columbia Basin Indians have long suspected: The fish they depend on for food are still contaminated by pesticides and industrial pollutants.
Commissioned by the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission, the study figured that Indians, who are likely to eat fish they catch in the basin 48 times a month, would be 50 times more likely to get cancer after 70 years than members of the general public who eat those fish once a month.
