Police making a traffic stop Wednesday arrested a 15-year-old boy suspected of fatally shooting two people in an alley Dec. 15.
The youth, who was not identified because he is a minor, was booked on suspicion of murder at Pomona City Jail, then taken to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, said Police Lt. Dave Keetle.
Killed in the 7:45 a.m. shootings were Carmen Leautaud, 53, and Jose Yanez, 19, Keetle said, adding that the victims did not know each other. The suspect allegedly opened fire on Yanez and another person, striking Leautaud as she got into her parked car, Keetle said, calling her “an innocent victim killed by a stray bullet.”
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Det. Gregg Guenther or Det. Robert Nelson at (909) 620-2095.
