San Diego 82, Cal State Northridge 66--The Matadors used a 15-4 run to cut their deficit to 54-50 with 14:15 left, but got no closer in a nonconference loss at Northridge.
Markus Carr scored six of his eight points and Lionel Benjamin had five of his 15 points in the Northridge spurt, but San Diego (8-5) scored the next 12 points.
Junior forward Curtis Slaughter, making only his second start, led the Matadors (2-9) with 15 points and six rebounds. Jermar Welch had 14 points off the bench.
