Teen Arrested on Burglary Charge

A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of burglary after he allegedly used a rock to shatter the window of a sport utility vehicle and took a purse, authorities said.
The suspect, a Fillmore youth whom officials declined to name because of his age, also was being investigated in connection with several other recent thefts in the area, authorities said.
Shortly before 10 a.m., a witness called authorities after spotting someone breaking into the vehicle in a city parking lot in the 300 block of East Matilija Street.
Deputies responded and arrested the teen a few minutes later as he ran down a nearby street, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Colon. The purse was not recovered.
