Riefenstahl Plans Release of Film About Her Scuba Dives

BERLIN — Filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl plans to release a new movie in August to coincide with her 100th birthday, the Die Welt newspaper said Sunday.
Her new 45-minute movie, “Underwater Impressions,” will compile footage from the more than 2,000 scuba dives she made in the Indian Ocean from 1974 to 2000, Die Welt’s report said.
Riefenstahl found herself blacklisted because of her work for the Third Reich. “Triumph of the Will,” a powerful documentary of the 1934 Nazi party rally in Nuremberg, helped cement Adolf Hitler’s image as Germany’s all-powerful leader.
The last feature film Riefenstahl released was “Tiefland” in 1954.
