Former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert B. Reich is entering the Massachusetts governor’s race, a campaign advisor said.
Reich, a Democrat and Brandeis University professor, planned to formally announce his candidacy today, the advisor said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Reich, 55, declined to comment.
Reich left President Clinton’s Cabinet in 1997 and has never run for elective office. GOP acting Gov. Jane Swift is seeking reelection.
