Police said fog may have been a factor in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 5 near Sacramento Metropolitan Airport that killed two people Thursday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol Officer Rick Barnett said at least one truck and several cars caught fire in the accident on the freeway’s southbound lanes.
The southbound lanes were still closed five hours after the crash, and Barnett said it could be early today before the lanes reopened.
