A 23-year-old man died Wednesday night in what authorities said was a gang-related shooting in a Sun Valley parking lot.
Miguel Palomera of Sun Valley was pronounced dead about 9 p.m. at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley, 20 minutes after he was shot near Laurel Canyon and Roscoe boulevards, Los Angeles Police Det. Mike Coffey said.
Palomera’s friends, who drove him to the hospital, told police they were hanging out in the parking lot of Sun Canyon Plaza at 8:40 p.m. when several men approached and started shooting, Coffey said.
Coffey said there was probably an exchange of gunfire between the assailants and Palomera’s group.
Members of Palomera’s group told police they were gang members, Coffey said.
