Re “O.C. to Pay Tollway Company for Right to Improve Freeway,” Jan. 17: One wonders what fun Will Rogers or Mark Twain would have had with the Great Tollway Robbery. Did the tollway company negotiate with OCTA and Caltrans with a loaded pistol pointed at their collective heads?
It isn’t easy to understand how even a first-year law student would have allowed that slickster tollway company to paint us into a corner with no escape clause without paying millions in ransom. Those nitwits who agreed to this debacle should be fired.
