Drug Dealer’s Mother Gets Six-Year Sentence

A mother convicted of laundering millions of dollars for her convicted drug-dealer son was sentenced Friday to six years in federal prison.
Frances Dianne Ward, 53, had been free on bail since her Oct. 24 conviction. Her husband, Steven, 54, is scheduled to be sentenced on similar charges April 8.
Their son, John Ward, was found guilty Oct. 24 of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, cocaine and the prescription drug Vicodin. Prosecutors said he ran the county’s largest methamphetamine ring.
