Not-Guilty Plea Entered in Beating of Toddler

A Los Angeles man who allegedly beat his 16-month-old daughter and abducted her 4-year-old sister pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of attempted murder, assault, child abuse and corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Robert Grace.
Harry Lee Perez, 37, was being held in lieu of $1.2-million bail, authorities said.
The girls’ mother, Muriel Miranda, 29, pleaded not guilty to charges of child abuse and cruelty to a child. She was in custody on $50,000 bail, authorities said.
