Boxer Will Seek 3rd Term in Senate

CALIFORNIA — California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer announced she will seek a third term in 2004, saying the Sept. 11 attacks persuaded her it was too early to end her 25-year political career.
There had been speculation that Boxer, 61, regarded as one of the most liberal members of the U.S. Senate, might step down. But now the two-term Democrat is gearing up to raise $10 million to $20 million for her campaign.
