Arraignment Set Today for Suspected Embezzler

The former bookkeeper for Temple Menorah in Redondo Beach is expected to be arraigned today on charges that she stole almost $100,000 from the synagogue.
Police said Doina Stanescu, 51, admitted to embezzling the money to pay medical expenses for her ailing father in Romania. Stanescu turned herself in to Redondo Beach police Tuesday.
