Man, 44, Killed in Motorcycle Accident

A 44-year-old Simi Valley man was killed Friday night when he crashed his motorcycle while trying to avoid a collision with a van, police said Saturday.
Timothy Beard was driving west in the 400 block of Los Angeles Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. when a van driven by 48-year-old Daniel Degrati of Downey pulled in front of him, police said.
He died a short time later at Simi Valley Hospital. A passenger on the motorcycle was not injured.
