A 41-year-old Hawthorne man accused of driving into a group of people while drunk was charged Tuesday with three counts of murder and seven other felonies.
Two 18-year-olds, Dino Downs Jr. and Antonisha Beverly, died Sunday when a pickup truck struck them near Inglewood Avenue and 160th Street. Jayshun Williams, 12, died of his injuries Monday.
Two other children were hurt critically.
Prosecutors said that the driver, William Lee Coy, had two felony convictions for drunk driving and that his blood-alcohol level was at least .2%, more than twice the legal limit for driving.
Coy pleaded not guilty and is being held on $3.1-million bail.
