Top-notch lodging near Topanga

With reference to “Topanga, Down to Earth and Yet Worlds Away” (Oct. 13): It is possible to obtain better lodging near Topanga that offers more than adequate blankets for a little more money. The Malibu Beach Inn on Pacific Coast Highway is a beautiful hotel, right on the water, with almost all ocean-view rooms, starting at $149 on weekdays. It is about six miles north of the Topanga Canyon Boulevard intersection.
