Ex-Chief of HPL Pleads Guilty to Fraud

David Lepejian, the former president and chief executive of HPL Technologies Inc., pleaded guilty to wire fraud for fabricating the software maker’s 2002 sales. Lepejian, 41, admitted making false statements to HPL auditors and to the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding the San Jose company’s revenue and profit, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in San Francisco.
