A 34-year-old Irvine man who was extradited from Italy has been found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon -- his car -- on a police officer.
Jeffrey Minor also was convicted Wednesday of felony hit and run for dragging Newport Beach police Officer Kristin O’Donnell 70 feet with his red Porsche after she pulled him over in December 1998 for a routine traffic stop.
Authorities said Minor fled to Italy after his arrest using his brother’s passport. He could face a 10-year prison term when he is sentenced Dec. 6 by Orange County Superior Court Judge Kaz Makino.
