Extradition Hearing Set for Slaying Suspect

A man arrested in Pennsylvania and suspected in three 1991 shooting deaths in California told a judge that he is not the man wanted in the case and should not be extradited to California.
After Angel M. Rivera, 57, made the claim Friday, Judge Stephen B. Lieberman asked prosecutors in Reading, Pa., to invite Santa Cruz authorities to a hearing to clarify the matter.
Rivera, who has been spotlighted on the “America’s Most Wanted” TV show three times this year, was found unconscious from a Tylenol overdose Wednesday in a farmhouse northwest of Philadelphia, authorities said.
He is suspected of killing three of his tenants in a Santa Cruz apartment complex in 1991, authorities said.
