Man Walking in His Neighborhood Is Slain

A 25-year-old man walking in his Canoga Park neighborhood Monday was shot and killed by an unknown gunman.
Witnesses told police the man was walking north on Loma Verde Avenue at 5:25 p.m. when a dark-colored vehicle, possibly an SUV, pulled up. The driver got out, ran up to the victim and opened fire, shooting him several times in the torso.
