Meetings Set to Discuss Planned Valley Busway
- Share via
A citizens group is hosting community meetings today and Thursday to discuss the ramifications of the MTA’s plans for building an east-west busway across the San Fernando Valley.
“It’s about educating the public,” said Diana Lipari, chair of Citizens Organized for Smart Transit, which opposes the busway. The group has invited Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials, and politicians who support the busway.
Earlier this year, the group filed a lawsuit against the MTA, challenging the busway’s environmental impact review. Today’s meeting will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Grant High School auditorium, 13000 Oxnard St. in Van Nuys. Thursday’s forum will be at the Taft High School auditorium, 5461 Winnetka Ave. in Woodland Hills, also from 5 to 8 p.m.
