Officials Warn Residents of Fund-Raising Scam

Authorities are warning residents not to donate money to people asking for funds for a law enforcement education program, and to report such solicitation.
Solicitors, who are not licensed by the city, are going door to door, asking for funds for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. Anyone approached for a donation should call authorities at 494-8200.
