Van Pelt Powers Colorado State

Bradlee Van Pelt threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more as No. 21 Colorado State defeated San Diego State, 49-21, Saturday night at San Diego, the Rams’ fifth consecutive win.

Van Pelt completed nine of 12 passes for 188 yards and rushed 13 times for 93 yards for the Rams, 9-2 overall and 5-0 in the Mountain West Conference.

Senior J.R. Tolver became the all-time leader in receiving yards for San Diego State (3-8, 3-3) with 3,163.

Mike Mitchell threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns to lead Pennsylvania (8-1, 6-0) to a 44-9 victory over Harvard (6-3, 5-1) at Philadelphia to clinch at least a tie for the league title.... Ron Benigno caught an 11-yard touchdown pass with 4:42 left to lift Yale (6-3, 4-2) to a 7-3 victory over Princeton (5-4, 3-3) at Hartford, Conn.
