Supervisor Joins Crowded Race for Mayor

Supervisor Gavin Newsom filed papers Tuesday declaring his intent to run for mayor next year, when Mayor Willie Brown reaches his two-term limit.
Newsom is the 11th candidate to file. Others include Supervisor President Tom Ammiano, city Treasurer and former Supervisor Susan Leal, former Police Chief Tony Ribera, former Supervisor Angela Alioto, banjo-playing hotel concierge Kent Clarke, formerly homeless 18-year-old City College student Robert Myers, past mayoral candidate Jim Reid and recent supervisor candidate Malinka Moye.
