Brekke School Teacher Wins Statewide Honor

A second-grade teacher at Norman R. Brekke School is one of five California Teachers of the Year for 2003, state education officials announced Wednesday.
Tamara Thornell, who teaches a bilingual class, was chosen from among 60 nominees from school districts across the state. She will be honored at a dinner in January.
