Krispy Kreme Posts 56.3% Profit Gain

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. said its third-quarter earnings increased 56.3%, beating Wall Street estimates by a penny a share.
The operator of 256 doughnut stores in 37 states and Canada earned $10.1 million, or 17 cents a share, for the three months ended Nov. 3, compared with $6.5 million, or 11 cents, in the same period last year. Revenue rose to $129.1 million from $99.8 million a year earlier.
Shares of Krispy Kreme, based in Winston-Salem, N.C.-rose $1.95 to $39.80 on the New York Stock Exchange.
