UCLA (0-0) at Hawaii (0-0), 11 a.m. PST, KBET (850) -- UCLA finally opens its regular season in a three-team, round-robin tournament in Honolulu. The Bruins have never lost to the Rainbow Wahine (4-0), but UCLA and Hawaii haven’t met since 1984. The Rainbow Wahine have three starters from last year’s 23-8 team that played in the WNIT.
New Mexico (0-0) at USC (2-1), Sports Arena, noon -- USC was knocked out of the preseason WNIT Tuesday by fourth-ranked Kansas State. But now the Trojans don’t have the logistical nightmare of traveling to Penn State after the game for Sunday’s final. This is the first meeting with New Mexico, which has four starters from last season’s 22-9 team.
