Veteran character actress Frances Bay, 83, remained in critical condition Saturday after doctors amputated part of her right leg.
Bay, who portrayed Adam Sandler’s grandmother in “Happy Gilmore,” broke both her legs and suffered head and other injuries when she was hit Thursday by a car in Glendale. A spokeswoman for Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center said surgeons had amputated her leg below the right knee.
Bay was struck at about 5:30 p.m. The 17-year-old driver has not been cited, Glendale police said.
