Seeing Some Sense in a Gore Encore

Re “Gore Plans Bolder Race in 2004 -- if He Runs,” Nov. 21: Al Gore has my vote if he decides to run for president in 2004. He is the only one who is making sense and saying what I want to hear. Very different from the rest of the Democrats, who, at this point, are difficult to differentiate from Republicans. Gore has my vote, and if he runs in 2004, he will win -- again!

Hooray, Al Gore! There are champions among us Democrats willing to face unpopular but necessary realities such as the now-failing economy, health care, the rights of women and minorities and the protection of the environment.
President Bush’s tirade against Iraq is clearly a sham to scare us into war and away from these more difficult tasks. Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) or Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) also would have my vote for president, anytime.
The cause of progressive Democrats did not die with Sen. Paul Wellstone (D-Minn.); it is forever reborn.
