A suspected bank robber who led sheriff’s deputies on a car chase was arrested Tuesday after he barricaded himself in a North Long Beach apartment, authorities said.
The 23-year-old suspect allegedly robbed Banco Popular in Lynwood about 9 a.m. and sped off with deputies in pursuit. At the apartment, deputies used an explosive device to open the door and entered with police dogs.
The suspect was treated at a hospital for dog-bite injuries to both legs before being booked.
