American Electric Fires Five Over Bad Data

American Electric Power Co., the biggest U.S. utility owner, fired five employees involved in natural gas trading for giving inaccurate information to trade publications for surveys used to compile benchmark indexes.
The company discovered the inaccuracies during an internal review of its trading activities, American Electric Power said. The company can’t tell if the false information changed the published indexes, it said.
