* Emergency Preparedness & Safety Expo (Beverly Hills Farmers Market, 200 block of North Canon Drive, Beverly Hills, [310] 285-1025). Sparky the Fire Dog, above, McGruff the crime-fighting dog and Daren the Lion join this year’s event, which features informational displays and demonstrations plus activities for children that include face painting, arts and crafts, pony rides and a petting zoo. Sunday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Free.
