British Official’s Son Faces One Fewer Charge
- Share via
A judge on Friday dismissed a felony vandalism charge against the son of Britain’s top judicial officer.
But Orange County Superior Court Judge Everett Dickey left intact the most serious allegations against Alastair Irvine, 25, who allegedly waged a campaign of intimidation against the boyfriend of a woman who rejected his advances.
Dickey found enough evidence for Irvine to be tried on another vandalism charge; allegations of stalking, burglary, criminal threat and a misdemeanor weapon charge.
Dickey’s lawyer, who contends his client was simply venting, not threatening anyone, said neither side is close to a plea agreement in the case.
Trial has been set for Oct. 21 but is expected to be postponed.
