Injury Sidelines Melichar

Pittsburgh Penguin defenseman Josef Melichar will be out four to six weeks because of a partially dislocated left shoulder.
General Manager Craig Patrick said Melichar does not need surgery, but the injury will require rehabilitation.

Columbus Blue Jacket forward Lasse Pirjeta will miss four to six weeks because of a separated shoulder.... New York Ranger defenseman Richard Lintner will miss a month because of a sprained ligament and a bone bruise in his left knee.... The Washington Capitals claimed right wing Andreas Salomonsson off waivers from the New Jersey Devils.
