Three people were reportedly killed and at least 23 wounded when two bombs ripped through the shopping center of the largely Christian city of Zamboanga in the southern Philippines, officials said. No group claimed responsibility, but authorities said they suspected radicals fighting for an Islamic state.
“I have heard there are people dead, but I have no confirmation. There are 23 people being treated in hospitals right now,” Zamboanga Mayor Maria Clara Lobregat said. Manila radio stations said at least three people were killed.
