Tyco Restates Results; Shares Rise on Review

Tyco International Ltd. restated $133 million in profit, primarily at its ADT security-systems unit. Its shares rose 11% after attorney David Boies said his accounting review isn’t likely to uncover “a very large fraud.”
Shares of Tyco, which reported a $1.7-billion quarterly loss, have plunged amid allegations that the company misled investors about its earnings and liquidity. Tyco’s shares rose $1.55 to $15.49 on the New York Stock Exchange.
