San Bernardino County sheriff’s detectives came to the East Los Angeles home of slain teenager Brenda Sierra on Thursday to appeal to the public for help in solving her murder.
The 15-year-old disappeared after leaving home for school Friday morning. Her body was found near Crestline in San Bernardino County.
Sheriff’s spokesman Chip Patterson said an autopsy determined that Sierra died from a blow to the head, although the instrument isn’t known. Pending tests will determine whether she was sexually assaulted.
Sierra’s blue backpack, which has a brown bottom and black straps and was filled with books and supplies, has not been found.
Anyone with information should call investigators G. Stroup or G. Smith at (909) 387-3589, or the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at (323) 981-5043.
