Dusty Baker’s “Beat L.A.” chant was doomed from the beginning. The Giants can’t monkey around with the Anaheim Angels.

Bonds walks 13 times. Intimidating. Bonds hits four home runs. Dominating.
Bonds kicks a fly ball, allowing winning run to jog into scoring position in Game 6.

Priceless.
I enjoyed Game 6 so much, I think I might go out and buy one of those souvenir Barry Bonds bobble-glove dolls.

Mike, Mickey, Alfredo: Thank you once again for a great moment in Los Angeles sports history.
To you 25 never-say-die guys: Way to go! Enjoy it. You deserve this.

The Cowboy, Donnie Moore, Don Wells and the rest of the old gang are watching from heaven and saying “Great job, Angels!”

Picture this: The Angels have just won the World Series. The crowd is going crazy, players are leaping for joy and who are we watching but Barry Bonds. Fox did it to us again.
The only player not to give an interview gets more air time than the entire Angels team combined throughout the whole Series.

I’ve been a Dodger fan since I was 10 years old, in 1959, when the Dodgers won the World Series against the White Sox. I was there at Dodger Stadium when Fernando pitched his no-hitter. And I’ll never forget Gibson’s homer. But then Peter O’Malley sold the team, they traded Mike Piazza, etc., etc., and I have to admit that my loyalty has been tested. I guess you can accuse me of jumping on the Angels’ bandwagon, but this is the most exciting postseason I can remember. Even my wife (who hates baseball!) was glued to the TV set.

The World Series proved to be one of the most exciting ever and gave Major League Baseball the positive shot in the arm it truly needed. Congratulations to the Anaheim (Not California, Jackie) Angels. Now, if we can find a commissioner who can correctly pronounce the name of the World Series MVP (Troy Glaus) on national television; and not have to read from a script at the trophy presentation, the future of baseball will be in much better hands.
