Raptors’ Murray Has Foot Surgery

Toronto Raptor forward Lamond Murray had surgery Monday to repair a ligament tear in his right foot and is expected to sit out at least eight weeks.
Murray was injured in a game against the New Jersey Nets on Oct. 18.
The Raptors acquired Murray from the Cleveland Cavaliers last month in a trade for Michael Stewart. Murray was the Cavaliers’ leading scorer last season, averaging a career-high 16.6 points.

Miami Heat center Alonzo Mourning was put on the injured list, more than a month after doctors said his kidney condition would sideline him indefinitely.
Mourning, 32, was diagnosed in October 2000 with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a career-threatening kidney disease. Doctors said in September they don’t believe Mourning is healthy enough to play.
Mourning played in 75 games last season and made his seventh All-Star appearance after sitting out all but the last 13 games the season before.
