An Anaheim man was arrested Saturday in the death of his 11-month-old son, police said.
James Edward Duff Jr., 34, was booked on suspicion of murder and willful cruelty to a child resulting in death, said Sgt. Rick Martinez, a spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department. Duff was being held at the city jail in lieu of $1-million bail.
Fire Department paramedics who responded to a call for medical aid in the 2300 block of East Ball Road about 12:30 a.m. found the infant, James Edward Duff III, with no heartbeat, Martinez said.
The baby was pronounced dead 30 minutes later at UCI Medical Center in Orange. An autopsy is pending.
The father was in the apartment when police arrived, but the whereabouts of the mother were unknown, Martinez said.
