Sweden extolled for its honesty
When visiting Stockholm in late May and being shown the downtown sites on a walk with a friend who lives there, I suddenly realized I had lost my cashmere scarf. I had no idea when or where I had lost it, and I never expected to see it again.
My friend, who has lived in Sweden since 1982, suggested we retrace our steps. Ten minutes later we spotted my scarf, tied neatly to an iron post.
My friend commented, with matter-of-fact pride, “Swedes are very honest.”
