Holiday closures

Sunday was Independence Day; the holiday is observed today by most agencies and many businesses. The following schedule will be in effect today.
Offices: All city, county and federal offices and courts will be closed.
Mail: There will be no mail delivery, and post offices will be closed. Mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted schedule.
Libraries: Most libraries will be closed.
Banks: Most banks and savings and loans will be closed.
Schools: Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University will be closed.
Public transportation: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on their Sunday schedules. Metrolink trains will not run.
Trash collection: Trash will be collected on the normal schedule except in Buena Park, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Westminster and Sunset Beach, where collection will be delayed by one day. Trash pickup the rest of the week will be delayed by one day.
