Lighting Up in a Bar or Cafe Is No Longer Legal

An indoor smoking ban covering workplaces, bars and restaurants went into effect throughout the state, and public health officials said they planned to aggressively pursue violators.
Smokers face a $100 fine for each violation, and business owners who allow smoking in their establishments face fines of up to $300.
