San Clemente Woman Found Dead

An unidentified woman was found dead Tuesday evening in her San Clemente apartment, believed the victim of a homicide, officials said.
A daughter’s concerned call Tuesday to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department prompted investigators to check on the 46-year-old woman’s condition. Her name was not released pending notification of relatives.
“Our investigators will be there [Tuesday night] and probably through the morning,” sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said late Tuesday.
The daughter called authorities about 8 p.m. saying she had not heard from her mother and was very concerned. When deputies entered the residence in the 16000 block of Calle del Cerro, Amormino said, they “found the apparent murder victim.”
He said no weapon had been found. The cause of death, Amormino said, is under investigation.
