American Ballet Theatre has dropped performances at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in November because of costs of touring over the Thanksgiving weekend, an ABT spokeswoman said Wednesday.
New dates could not be worked out for the 2004-2005 season, according to the spokeswoman.
To complete its five-company dance series, the Center has scheduled the Bolshoi Ballet to appear July 12-17 in 2005. The Russian company will dance a ballet to be announced and a restaging of “Bright Stream” with choreography by its new company director, Alexei Ratmansky, a Center spokesman said.
