Mother Held in Twins’ Deaths

SACRAMENTO — A woman arrested in the deaths of her 3-month-old twin daughters told investigators this week that she shook them when they wouldn’t go to sleep, police said.
The children’s father arrived home from work Wednesday and found the twins in soiled car seats. Neither was moving, and he placed them on the floor to see if they were all right, police Sgt. Justin Risley said. Both were dead, Risley said, and the father told the twins’ mother to call 911.
Vanessa Rose Hackett, 21, told investigators she had shaken the babies Tuesday night.
She was booked on suspicion of murder and the father, Ernest Dashon Noel, 26, was booked on suspicion of felony child neglect.
